Privacy policy
This policy explains how Sipnotech Solutions Private Limited handles information when you use Merit Pulse on Android and the web.
Effective date: 14 October 2026
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your username, public alias, account identifier, password credentials stored as a derived hash, and an email address if you provide one. Profile contact details or an avatar may be stored when supplied.
- Learning information: exam goals, target dates, study routine, quiz answers, practice history, saved questions, topic progress, daily activity and learning preferences.
- Live quiz information: event registrations, submitted answers, scores, rankings and prize entitlements. Your alias and ranking may be visible to other learners.
- Prize claim information: if you submit a claim, we store the UPI identifier you supply, claim status and any payout reference or verification information recorded by an operator.
- Service and device information: installation identifiers, session tokens, language, appearance and accessibility preferences, content reports, support requests and operational audit records. Hosting providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the service.
2. How we use information
We use this information to create and secure your account, restore your sessions, provide quizzes, save learning progress, organise your study plan, operate live events and rankings, handle eligible prize claims, respond to reports and support requests, and prevent misuse.
The current Android app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs and does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera or microphone.
3. Who can access information
Authorised Merit Pulse administrators access information needed to operate the service, review reports and manage event or claim workflows. Public aliases and standings are visible where rankings are displayed; your password credentials and private contact details are not part of public profiles.
We use service providers to host the application, store account information and deliver the website. These providers process information to deliver their services. Information may be processed in countries other than your own.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or users, or when you specifically request or authorise a disclosure.
4. Local storage and security
The app uses device storage to remember your session and preferences. Network requests use HTTPS. Passwords are verified against derived hashes on the backend; session access is checked before private account operations. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your password private and sign out on shared devices.
The account-deletion webpage keeps the verification session in memory for the current page, rather than saving it to browser storage. It sends credentials directly to the authentication backend over HTTPS.
5. Retention and account deletion
Account and learning information is stored while your account is active. You can permanently close your account from the app’s Settings screen or from the Delete account page, even if the app is uninstalled.
After your password is verified and deletion is confirmed, your credentials and profile are removed and account access closes immediately. Remaining account-linked information is scheduled for deletion in batches. This includes sessions, preferences, learning history, saved questions, goals and routines, live registrations and answers, rankings, prize entitlements and claims, support requests and account-owned audit records. A temporary deletion record is removed when that process finishes.
The automated process does not intentionally retain these account-linked database records. Shared quiz content and event definitions remain because they are not owned by your account. Hosting logs and provider backups are separate from the active application database and are not removed by the account-deletion transaction; their retention depends on the provider’s configured systems. Contact us for questions about provider-held records or any separate legal retention obligations.
Deletion cannot be undone and removes your progress and prize claim records. If you have an unresolved claim, contact support before confirming deletion. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your account.
6. Your choices
You can change language and appearance in Settings, update your study setup, sign out, or delete your account. For access, correction, export or other privacy requests, email us using the contact below. We may need to verify account ownership before responding; do not send your password by email.
7. Younger learners
Merit Pulse is designed for general knowledge and exam preparation. If you are a parent or guardian with a concern about a younger learner’s information, contact us so we can review the account and the request.
8. Policy updates
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date on this page identifies the current version.
